Early Work, Early Lessons

Todd Owen Marshall grew up in a small town outside South Bend, Indiana. One of eleven kids, he learned to work early—shoveling snow in the winter and mowing lawns in the summer. “When you have ten siblings, you figure things out fast,” he says. “You pitch in. You stay busy.”

Those early jobs weren’t just about money. They built habits. Todd learned how to show up on time, handle pressure, and keep moving when others quit. Wrestling and cross-country added to the mix. “Those sports taught me pain tolerance and focus. You keep grinding, even when you’re losing,” he says.

That grit followed him into business.

How He Broke Into Marketing

After high school, Todd took classes at Indiana University South Bend. He didn’t wait around for perfect conditions. He launched into the workforce, landing in marketing in the mid-1990s.

Over the next few decades, he built and ran multiple businesses. What stood out wasn’t just the growth. It was how Todd handled messes—broken lead funnels, confusing messaging, unclear strategies. “Marketing is just problem-solving with a megaphone,” he says. “You fix things and get loud about what works.”

That mindset made him stand out. He didn’t sell hype. He cleaned up confusion and got companies back on track.

The Work He Does Now

Today, Todd serves as Director of Marketing for both Noble Capital Corporation and Boss Marketing Group. He works with companies to fix inefficiencies, reduce overspending, and build sustainable growth.

Noble Capital focuses on business consulting—mainly uncovering overspending in indirect operating costs. Boss Marketing Group leans into lead generation, sales strategy, and B2B referral programs.

“I’m not interested in vanity metrics,” Todd explains. “I want to know: Did we move the needle? Are we spending smarter? Did the phone ring because of what we just did?”

That focus on real-world outcomes helps clients see the value fast.

A Clear, No-Nonsense Playbook

Todd credits his approach to learning from mistakes and modeling proven ideas. He’s a fan of marketers like Grant Cardone, but he’s not chasing trends. “You don’t need to reinvent the wheel. You just need to make sure it rolls downhill.”

His core playbook includes:

  • Tracking ROI on every campaign
  • Simplifying overcomplicated strategies
  • Training sales teams to speak the customer’s language
  • Auditing expenses every 90 days

“Too many businesses bleed out from small leaks. I look for the drip,” he says.

A Personal Mission Beyond Business

Outside of work, Todd is just as active. He’s a runner, a weightlifter, and a huge Formula One fan. “I love precision,” he says. “Every second counts in racing. That’s how I look at business too.”

But his heart’s not just in fast cars. He’s also deeply involved in animal rescue. Todd supports Tri-County Animal Rescue in Boca Raton and has personally raised stray kittens. “I’ve pulled kittens out from under sheds, bottle-fed them, and found them homes,” he shares.

He also supports church-led mission trips in Indiana and Pennsylvania, giving time and resources to help others find support and opportunity.

What Drives Him Now

What keeps him going after nearly 30 years? It’s not awards or likes.

“I want to keep moving,” he says. “If I’m solving problems, learning something new, and helping a business grow, I’m doing my job.”

Todd doesn’t believe in chasing success. He believes in building it from the ground up. “You show up, you help people, and you keep your promises. That’s it. Do it long enough, and good things happen.”
