Carey Olsen Hong Kong partner Michael Padarin and Singapore partner Anthony McKenzie have been recognised in
“The Visionaries” category in China Business Law
Journal’s 2025-26 A-List of elite private practice lawyers in
the Chinese market. The Visionaries category identifies lawyers who
hold key management roles in their firms and prominent public
positions.
Specialising in the formation, operation and restructuring of
offshore investment funds, Michael is managing partner of Carey
Olsen’s Hong Kong office and head of the firm’s corporate
practice in Hong Kong. His practice focuses on Cayman Islands
(“Cayman”), British Virgin Islands (“BVI”) and
Bermuda law and in addition to his funds related work, he is
regularly instructed by leading international firms on complex
corporate transactions. This is Michael’s fourth appearance in
the A-List and his first in “The Visionaries”
category.
Anthony is managing partner of Carey Olsen’s Singapore
office and head of the firm’s corporate practice in Singapore.
A specialist in Cayman, BVI and Bermuda law, he is the only Cayman
and BVI admitted and Bermuda registered corporate partner in
Singapore. Anthony is experienced in offshore corporate, capital
markets, investment funds and finance transactions. He is
consistently recognised as one of the best private practice lawyers
advising on China-related business, with this being the sixth
consecutive year he has featured in CBLJ’s A-List and his third
year in “The Visionaries” category.
Michael said: “It is a real honour to feature as a
“Visionary” in China Business Law Journal’s
prestigious A-List, a testament to the strength of Carey
Olsen’s presence in Asia, knowledge of the Chinese market, and
our capacity to provide in-depth expertise to PCR-based
clients.”
Anthony added: “Being named in the “A-List” is
not only a personal achievement but a reflection of the trust
clients put in us to navigate China’s complex and fast-evolving
legal landscape. Without the support of our teams in Hong Kong and
Singapore and their commitment to delivering the highest level of
client service, this individual recognition would not be
possible.”
CBLJ’s A-List is based on the nominations of thousands of
in-house counsel and partners in China and around the world,
combined with CBLJ’s extensive research and analysis of
China’s legal market.
